SHOWER DESIGN & PRACTICALITY

This image shows a rainfall shower paired with a hand shower hose — a combination that balances design with everyday practicality.

In one project, a client installed a three-glass-wall shower with only a rainfall fixture. While visually striking, it proved difficult to maintain. Without a hand shower hose, glass panels, tiles, and grout cannot be properly rinsed, making regular cleaning more time-consuming and less effective.

For cleaning and long-term maintenance, this detail makes a significant difference. Once plumbing is installed behind the wall, adding a hose later can be complex and costly.

It’s a small but essential element often overlooked during renovation — yet it plays a key role in keeping your bathroom clean, functional, and easy to maintain over time.

THINK ABOUT IT
Design for Today—Care for Tomorrow

When it comes to interiors, beauty and function must go hand in hand. Practical design choices shape not only the look and flow of a space, but also how easily it can be cleaned, maintained, and cared for over time.

Consider the details:

• Is the shower door properly sealed, or will leaks become a recurring issue?
• Can every part of a folding glass shower door be cleaned with ease?
• Will your grout selection encourage mold, and if so, how simple will it be to maintain and restore?
• Could everyday cleaning products—such as vinegar or stronger chemicals—damage your materials over time?

Design should captivate the eye, but true interior quality lies in how well a space performs day to day. The longevity and elegance of your space depend on practical decisions that make ongoing care simple, effective, and effortless.
